# alert (alerta)

An automatic notification—such as an email from Sentry or a billing warning from Tokentide—sent when something needs your attention.

**Example:** For example, Sentry sends you an alert if a new error appears in Production, and Tokentide alerts you if your daily spend cap is reached.
