# build (build (compilación))

The step where Next.js checks your code and packages your pages and components into a fast, ready-to-serve bundle before putting it online.

**Example:** For example, when Vercel deploys your branch, it runs `npm run build` first and stops the deploy if there is a broken import or type error.
